Matthew is a New York City-based actor, singer, and dancer who has appeared on regional stages across the country, in a national tour, in countless productions in school, and on screen.

Matthew grew up in New Jersey, where his love for dance and theatre were fostered from a young age while attending the New Jersey School of Ballet. It was there that he began to hone his skills in ballet, jazz, and tap, while taking acting and singing lessons at various local studios and, occasionally, in New York City.

After his first professional audition, Matthew was cast as Raymond in the 2008 film adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play Doubt. The film was written and directed by Shanley, and starred Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis; it was nominated for five Academy Awards.

Throughout high school and college, Matthew began to focus more deliberately on musical theatre, studying the history and styles of the form, with a focus on the power of dance and choreography in musical theatre storytelling. He graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with Honors with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and a minor in musical theatre having appeared in numerous productions there, including Kiss Me, Kate, A Chorus Line, and The Laramie Project. He studied voice with Matthew Deming and Linda Benanti and dance with Jeff Shade, Dana Moore, and Stephen Harding, among others.

During his summers while not at school, Matthew appeared in various regional productions, including the regional premiere of Disney’s NEWSIES at the historic Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA, Newsies and Singin’ in the Rain at Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick, ME, and The Music Man at the Lexington Theatre Company in Lexington, KY. He also appeared in 9 to 5, The Producers, My Fair Lady, and Footloose at Interlakes Summer Theatre in Meredith, NH, and as Jack in Into The Woods at Theatre Workshop of Nantucket in Massachusetts.

Upon graduating college, Matthew served as the Swing and Assistant Dance Captain on the 2018 national tour of Elf The Musical.

Then, Matthew appeared as “Flounder” in The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn Center for the Arts in St. George, Utah. He also appeared in the ensemble and served as the Friedrich understudy for The Sound of Music and served as the Swing and Terk understudy for Disney’s When You Wish. The three productions performed in repertory from May to October 2019. While at Tuacahn, he also appeared in a staged reading of Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy’s The Count of Monte Cristo.

Since then, Matthew appeared as the understudy for both Al and Bobby in A Chorus Line at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and as the Swing in Sunset Boulevard at A Contemporary Theatre of Connecticut.

When he’s not performing, auditioning, or taking class, Matthew can be found reading, watching The Real Housewives, or sipping a glass of wine with friends.
